I am a creative.
In May 2018, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island as a member of the Honors society. I double majored in Biology and Communications Studies and also completed a minor in Leadership Studies. I received the Academic Excellence Award for the Biology Major as well as an award for Outstanding Public Speaking given by the Harrington School of Communication and Media. In addition, I was a member of the Harrington School Advisory Board Mentoring Program.
Now, I am continuing my education at the University of Rhode Island. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program for Communication Studies. My focuses are on media, public speaking, and science communication.
I have a passion for science and the environment, as well as a drive for more and more effective communication and information dispersal styles. My goal is to help bridge the gap between the Scientific and Public Spheres in a way that is interesting and entices people to learn more. My main focuses are environmental and wildlife conservation.
I have been involved in several service programs during my time at URI. I began as a Civic Engagement Leader, leading and facilitating a variety of service projects both on and off campus that consisted of student volunteers. From there I participated in the Alternative Spring Break Program, first as a participant and then most recently as a volunteer Advisor and videographer. I am currently in the process of editing several videos from the footage that I gathered. Two shorter mini-docs for promotional purposes for the URI Service Corps and one longer documentary for those who want to get an inside look at the entire experience.
I interned for two summers (2016 and 2017) at the headquarters for Corning's Life Sciences division. Most recently, I worked as a part of the Digital Marketing team that was preparing product data for transfer to a new database style.
During the Spring 2017 semester, I lived in Prague, Czech Republic and have interned at both the National Library of Technology and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry.
There, I did a variety of jobs that ranged from writing profiles of and interviewing PhD students to filming and editing videos.
This is a collection of my work.

NTK.
NTK, the National Library of Technology of Prague is the largest and the oldest library of science and technology literature in the Czech Republic. They strive to assist students in the most effective and professional manner possible. The library's motto is "The Library is a Service". Here, I worked on the video promoting the library's service in the Periodicals Reading Room, editing texts for publication and brainstormed ideas for a promotional campaign that was carried out by my colleagues.
IOCB.
The Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry is a part of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Its mission is independent basic research in organic chemistry and biochemistry. They focus their studies in three clusters, BIO, CHEM, and PHYS. Here, I edited texts for publication, conducted bi-weekly interviews followed by a profile write-up which included photos of the interviewees, and also spent the semester working on a booklet for that will be passed out at IOCB events.
